Most people know that I have a great love for music. ALL music really. So I rarely surprise hubby when we have a party at the house and the topic of music comes up I am always a willing participant. Or that if someone says "Oh haven't heard "fill in blank" song in ages".....9 times out of 10. I follow that statement with....."I got that" and quickly put it on for all to enjoy.
But I think I finally surprised him......
One of many reasons I love having children in the house is you get to enjoy Disney movies all over again!
Renae is in love with Disney Princesses. But her number one favourite is ..........Little Mermaid or as Renae says it "Ariel the Mermaid" (don't tell anyone but it is one of my favourites as well!). And even though I LOVE this movie I don't own it on DVD.
I Know, I was shocked too!
But I did know that I owned it, on VHS of all things. It was just a matter of remembering where I put it. So, I looked in all of the logical spots. And, not surprisingly, it wasn't anywhere to be found. So I gave up on it.
Well it just so happened that it was a bit cold here recently and Renae was complaining about how cold her hands were while she was playing outside. SO, I went into the coat closet and pulled down the basket of hats and gloves and such and low and behold THERE it was! (......doesn't everyone keep random items in a basket in the coat closet?)
Needless to say, Renae was done with playing outside and wanted to watch it IMMEDIATELY! So, I obliged. And have played it for her nearly daily ever since (upon her request of course).
.......she also loves all of the music in the little mermaid (who doesn't) and Renae was a little impressed when mama knew all of the words to the songs. And so, one morning we were about to leave to go to the daycare and she said to me "I wish I could listen to The Little Mermaid in the car."
And which point I countered........."I got that."
