Of course as always, you are more then welcome to come for a visit to thaw out :)
One of the blogs that I follow is homeschoolcreations.com which is a wonderful site with great resources for homeschooling education. I have printed many of the lap books that she has put together for Renae. The current lap book that we are starting is The Garden Preschool Pack which I just know Renae is going to LOVE!
The games and activities in this pack are too cool and I will post more about it as we go along. I plan on starting this on Monday. However, there is also a bonus lesson pack that she is offering when you link up for the Garden Challenge being offered on http://www.thehomeschoolvillage.com/category/hsv-garden-challenge and I am so excited to jump on this project with Renae.
Now, as you know, I don't have the greenest thumb on the planet but we are going to have a blast trying! Renae is going to help me keep our current plants
We have also started a new project. I had those daisy seed packets from the wedding that I still hadn't planted and I thought this would be a perfect way to introduce gardening from seeds to Renae!
First we got a pot that I had in the garage and filled it with some potting soil. I also showed Renae the holes in the bottom and explained how the water needs to drain so that the soil/dirt doesn't stay too wet. Then Renae made holes in the soil with her thumb. She really liked this part!
And then she placed each flower pod into each hole.
Finally we covered the pods with dirt and gave them plenty of water. Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed that the seeds are going to grow. Wish us luck! Check back at the end of April for our progress!
I also have attached a button link so that you can check out everyone else's gardening projects that are participating in the challenge.
oh goodness - she's adorable watering those seeds! So glad you found us from Homeschool Creations (we love Jolanthe)!!
