Well it finally came! Halloween!
For Renae the wait felt like an eternity. It was near torture to have to wait to wear her Rapunzel costume with the long blonde wig. I honestly thought that it wasn't going to stay on for more then 5 minutes.
I was wrong. She totally fell into character and wore that wig the whole time! She was sooooo cute! The part that had me laughing was whenever she would see another princess trick or treating....she would say "Hello Cinderella, or Belle, or Ariel" (you get the picture) and then do a princess wave to them. I must say, she did pretty good in the candy haul department too.
Dakota was in awe....she didn't know what to think. She was such a cute bumble bee. We toted her around in the wagon and when we finally made it to a house that was giving away little bag of pretzels, which meant she could have some......well she was over the moon!
I even got into the spirit and dressed up as Athena ( I know what your thinking, I already am a Goddess, I am supposed to dress up as something else) Ahem.....anyway, Renae loved all the build up to the big day.
We went to our annual pumpkin patch spot, and met up with a dear friend of mine and her family. It was a great time. They had a tractor ride, duck races, petting zoo, pump up slide and obstacle course and lots, and lots of pumpkins of course! The kids had a great time and the day was beautiful!
A few days later we did our 3 pumpkins that Renae helped pick out. One she painted, one we used our Mr. Potato Head kit (princess style of course) and the last one was done the traditional way! It was great fun! Renae also enjoyed roasting (and eating) the pumpkin seeds.
So, it was fun filled and action packed and a huge success.
Which leaves me wondering.....what do you do for Halloween? Would love to hear what some of your traditions are.
